The quiet Word by Jeffrey Mcdaniel

In an effort to get people to look
into each other’s eyes more,
the government has decided to allot
each person exactly one hundred
and sixty-seven words, per day.

When the phone rings,
I put itto my ear without saying hello.
In the restaurant I point
at chicken noodle soup. I am
adjusting well to the new way.

Late at night,
I call my longdistance lover and proudly say
I only used fifty-nine today.
I saved the rest for you.
When she doesn’t respond, I know
she’s used up all her words
so I slowly whisper I love you,
thirty-two and a third times.
After that, we just sit on the line
and listen to each other breathe.

Primeiro passo

Give me your hand. I may not lead you into forever, but I will lead you into now, and sometimes, if you are lucky, now is the first step, into forever.
— William F Payne

" People spend their whole lives trying to live up to other people’s expectations and being told what to do. I say, screw that. Be free. Do what you want, go where you want, and reach for the sky because life has no limits or boundaries. Boundaries are just other people’s fears, and limits are just other people’s expectations. You only get one chance to do all the things that life offers you. Have no enemies, no regrets, no fears and then you’ll really have lived life. "

"Acabo de realizar:
Nunca olhei em seus olhos.
Mas, meu bem,
a surpresa é que eu,
logo eu,
sei quantas pintas há em seu rosto.
Só não faço idéia com qual cor
seus olhos enxergam o mundo."

"People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.
— Jim Morrison

And by the way, everything in life is writable about if you have the outgoing guts to do it, and the imagination to improvise. The worst enemy to creativity is self-doubt.
— Sylvia Plath

A person is never as quiet or unrestrained as they seem. Or as good, as bad, as
vulnerable, as strong, or as sweet. We are thickly layered, page by page, behind
simple covers. And love - it is not the book itself, but the binding. It can
either rip us apart or hold us together.

I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said “love is blind”. Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there’s another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space!
— The Holiday

Someday someone might come into your life and love you the way you’ve always wanted. If your someday was yesterday, learn. If your someday is tomorrow, hope. If your someday is today, cherish.

A woman has strengths that amaze me, she can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens, she holds happiness, love and opinions, she smiles when she feels like screaming, she sings when she feels like crying, cries when shes happy, and laughs when shes afraid, her love is unconditional, there’s only one thing wrong with her and that is that sometimes she forgets what she is worth.

Madre Tereza

I have never heard of a man described as lucky…and yet in my career I have been told a million times how lucky I’ve been. Women who have achieved are not lucky. We are lucky if we don’t fall out of the sky in an airplane or if a plank doesn’t hit us in the head. But at work we are ballsy, hardworking. We are magnificent.
